It's not unwieldy, but we sometimes do get complaints from the 'it's too slow'/expected instant-feedback crowd. It's more a problem on spinning-disk; SSDs greatly mitigate it (naturally). I have moved to Linux systems and now build Kiosk machines for situations like yours when needed. 99% of the time Windows is not needed and Linux works very, very well.
